Mercer County, WV (WOAY) – The West Virginia Remote Victim Outreach Program is expanding to Mercer and McDowell counties.
The program, which is supported by the West Virginia Supreme Court, allows victims of sexual assault and domestic violence to file petitions and participate in court hearings remotely.
That allows the victims to avoid direct contact with the other parties. Victims will join the hearings and file petitions from local family crisis centers.
Greenbrier County already participates in the program.
