Raleigh County, WV (WOAY) – The West Virginia Division of Highways is accepting bids for the Mabscott overhead bridge and the Cova Street overhead bridge in Raleigh County.
The existing Mabscott overhead bridge was built in 1960. The Cova Street Bridge was built in 1958, and both are under weight limits.
The bridges carry WV 16 over several roads and railroads in Mabscott.
The new bridges will no longer have the existing weight restrictions and will improve travel from the coalfields into Beckley.
