Fayette County, WV (WOAY) – Two Fayette County residents have been charged in connection with the alleged abuse of an infant.
According to a criminal complaint, Brian Farley and Brittany Crookshanks have both been charged with child abuse by a parent, guardian, or person of trust.
The investigation began after a three-month-old infant was taken to a Charleston hospital with a broken collarbone, leg, arm, and eye bleed.
Criminal complaints allege that Brian Farley held the child’s arms behind her back, squeezed her legs, and kicked her. The complaint said he took full responsibility.
Crookshanks, the mother of the child, said that she was aware of what was happening. She allegedly said the conduct was more aggressive than she liked, but the complaint said she did not intervene.
She also allegedly lied to CPS, claiming the injuries came from the baby falling off the couch.
