Warming Trend Resumes Christmas Day; Colder Changes For Early 2025

The clouds will remain stubborn today but we see warmer changes on the horizon for Christmas Day into the weekend.

The good news is the cold weather and uptick in precipitation may be enough to even remove the abnormally dry spell in our region. Going forward, expect temperatures to warm above average and rain to return late this week into the weekend.

We expect the pattern to shift to colder late New Year’s Eve into New Year’s Day. A strong Greenland block will become anchored over Greenland to close out the year and historically our biggest snowstorms occur 5-8 days following the peak of the block. This places our region in a spot for potential significant snow (5″ or more) between January 6-10.
