UPDATE: Power has been restored in the Beckley area.
BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – Over a thousand people are without power in Beckley.
According to Appalachian Power, 1,471 people are in the dark. Locations include N. Kanawha Stree, WVU Tech, McDonald’s New River Park, WorkForce West Virginia Career Center, and surrounding areas.
The estimated restoration time is 1:30 pm this afternoon.
It’s not immediately clear what caused the outage.
