Raleigh County, WV (WOAY) – The U.S. Marine Band planned to perform in Raleigh County tomorrow, Thursday, as a part of the 2025 United States Marine Band concert tour.
However, due to the government shutdown, they posted on Facebook that they are unable to perform until further notice. They stated they will resume events when government funding comes back. The Marine Band apologizes for the inconvenience.
The Marine Band is America’s oldest continuously active professional musical organization.
Founded in 1798, the band has performed for every U.S. President since John Adams, dedicated to its primary mission of providing music for the President of the United States and Commandant of the Marine Corps.
