Kanawha County, WV (WOAY) – A train derailment in Saint Albans over the weekend has prompted heavy repairs.
According to the Saint Albans Police Department, CSX has crews working on the tracks, including near the Boone Street Tunnel in Saint Albans.
The public should also be aware that heavy track repair equipment will be moving through that area and pedestrians cannot safely cross the intersection there.
Nine cars each carrying 100 tons of coal derailed at 11:45 Saturday night.
Nobody was hurt.
The police department says CSX is working as quickly as possible and appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation.
