Tazewell, VA (WOAY)- The town of Tazewell is seeking a new mayor
The town is accepting resumes to fill the ongoing term of former mayor Michael Hoops, which ends after December 31, 2026.
Citizens must live within the town’s corporate limits to apply.
The chosen applicant will begin working as mayor immediately after being sworn in by the clerk of the circuit court.
Applications must include a resume and a brief statement explaining why you’re seeking the position.
Applications must be submitted to Town Manager Leeanne Regon at Tazewell Town Hall by 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 18.
City council members will review applications at a special meeting set for Monday, December 1.
The council will conduct interviews if necessary.
The swearing-in ceremony for the new mayor will take place at the regular council meeting on Tuesday, December 9, at 7:30 p.m.
