Beckley, WV (WOAY)A new tradition is coming to southern West Virginia this holiday weekend.
The first-ever Raleigh County Fair will take place July 3-5 at the Raleigh County Convention Center.
The free event is open to residents of Raleigh, Boone, Mercer, Summers, Wyoming, Kanawha, and Fayette counties.
The fair will feature livestock exhibits and shows, food trucks, local vendors, live music, and fireworks.
Friday’s festivities begin at 5:00 p.m. with exhibits, demonstrations, vendors, and fireworks after dark.
Saturday includes a livestock show, live music, and another fireworks display, while Sunday’s schedule wraps up with sheep and goat competitions, exhibitors, and vendors.
Organizers say the event is designed to celebrate local agriculture and support West Virginia farming.
