WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): This morning is another frigid one thanks to wind chills diving into the negatives once again. The sun will come out as the day continues, but it won’t help much with getting us any warmer. With temperatures staying this cold for this long, any lingering snow has been a solid sheet of ice for days. While some roads are being cleared still, slick spots are possible even on the main roads. The day will be uneventful outside of the cold, but more active weather is coming up to end the work week. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the details:
A small clipper system of snow showers will move through the region tomorrow morning. The snow will start in our southwest and gradually expand through the day. All precipitation will be light and fluffy snow, which is good news for us. It will be easier to remove and can be removed during the storm without having to worry about ice. Accumulation will be heaviest Friday night into Saturday morning as the prospective nor’easter starts to develop off the east coast. This development will amplify snowfall in our area. Snow lasts for most of the day on Saturday before moving out of the region Sunday morning. By the end of the event, the southern coalfields could end up with 5 or more inches. Amounts are starting to shape in the southern coalfields, but uncertainty remains in the northern half of our viewing area. Here’s a look at the snow forecast:

After the nor’easter moves towards New England, conditions start to improve in our region. Groundhog Day will be mostly sunny, and temperatures get to above freezing for the first time in a bit on Wednesday. However, Wednesday will also bring some more active weather. There is agreement on a mix of snow and rain moving into the area in the middle of the week, but many uncertainties remain. Here’s your 7-Day Forecast:
