WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): A gorgeous weekend start will give way to rain and storms early and late Sunday.
RAIN FORECAST: Expect rain and thunder early Sunday prior to 9 a.m. and then again late in the afternoon to early evening. Briefly heavy rain is likely, but we ARE NOT expecting a repeat of last Sunday with gusty winds and severe weather. While we do expect soaking rain, the flash flooding risk is very low (except for typical poor drainage spots).
A storm or shower could occur between 2-6 p.m. Monday. Widespread rain, storms and gusty winds are likely Wednesday afternoon with a few linger showers on Thursday.
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM THREAT: Wednesday afternoon has a 60% potential for gusty thunderstorms ahead of a cold front with a 30% risk Thursday. Stay tuned as we hone in on the specifics of timing and threats.
TEMPERATURES: It will turn markedly warmer but the humidity will be low on Saturday. Sunday will be muggy, but cooler. We are back into the thick of the heat and humidity early next week before a cooler, less humid trend resumes Friday into next weekend.
