Tazewell Sheriff’s Department give out free Pet IDs on April 17 in honor of National Pet ID Week; accepting donations for Tazewell County Animal Shelter

Tazewell, VA (WOAY) April 17 is the start of National Pet ID Week, and the Tazewell Police Department is hosting an event to get your four-legged friends proper identification at no charge.
The department will offer free pet IDs on April 17 from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm at 140 Hillsboro Drive.
Each year, an estimated 1 in 3 pets will go missing at some point in their lives, and several of those pets end up at local shelters.
Identification is one of the most important ways to keep your pet safe and ensure a quick return home.
Reuniting pets brings families back together and reduces shelter overcrowding, providing valuable resources and kennel space for truly homeless animals.
The sheriffs are requesting attendees to help out the Tazewell County Animal Shelter by donating much-needed items.
You can find the approved donation list for acceptable items below.
