BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – The Raleigh County School District is in the process of building a new Stratton Elementary school.
Raleigh County Superintendent David Price said before the district can open the new facility, the board must wait on the School Building Authority to approve the funding.
“It’s a very exciting time for the Stratton community to be able to. That we’ll be able to build a brand new school, a brand new facility for the students, that’s actually built to support elementary education. We know that it’s a very proud rich tradition at Stratton, and we want to make sure as we build this new facility that it supports staff and respects the heritage. Everything about Stratton, and that’s what we’re keeping in mind moving forward,” said Superintendent David Price.
The new facility will be built in the field behind the current school building.
