Sunny for Football Friday; Rain Gradually Returns

WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): Another sunny, warm, and dry day is upon us to end the week. Temperatures will break 80 degrees, making for a wonderful day with a slight north breeze in the afternoon. Kickoff for the games will teeter between 70 and 75 degrees across the region, with temperatures dipping into the 60s by the final whistle. Moving through the next week, we will finally see some active weather on the way. Christian Boteler has the full forecast:

The weekend rings in the first fleeting chances of showers and a rogue thunderstorm across the region. These are only around 10% and mainly center on the Greenbrier Valley. While we may get rain, it won’t improve our drought status due to the moderate to severe drought already setting in. Outside of these showers, skies will be mostly sunny across the region. Temperatures stay in the upper 70s and lower 80s, making for another warmer weekend.

Entering next week, rain chances will increase thanks to a low-pressure system entering the region. The Great Lakes and northeastern states will receive the better share, but we will get some decent rainfall from showers and storms, especially on Tuesday. Chances dwindle a bit going into the mid-section of the week, but will stick around 30% ad moisture sticks around and another low-pressure system approaches from the Midwest later in the week. Here’s a look at the 7-Day Forecast:
