Summersville, WV (WOAY) A local police department is opening its doors to meet its neighbors and educate the community about the dangers of impaired driving.
The Summersville Police Department will host a Community Open House on Wednesday, January 21, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at City Hall at 400 North Broad Street.
The community will have an opportunity to meet the department’s officers and participate in the Drunk Busters Program.
Summersville Police will have special goggles simulating the effects of impairment.
The program aims to demonstrate how being under the influence of drugs and alcohol severely impacts vision, balance, and reaction time.
