Storms stick around into next week with average temperatures

Good afternoon, everyone! We’re continuing to track scattered showers and storms moving through our region today, and this active pattern will stick around for the next several days.

For the rest of today, expect off-and-on showers with the possibility of a strong storm or two. While the severe threat is low, gusty winds are the main concern with any stronger cells that develop. The risk of flooding remains minimal at this time.

The unsettled weather is being driven by a massive storm system spinning across the central U.S. As this system slowly moves east, it will keep rain chances in play for southern West Virginia well into next week. Showers and isolated storms will be possible on and off as the system continues to influence our weather.

There is good news on the horizon. By the end of next week, rain chances begin to taper off, and drier conditions are expected to return. In the meantime, temperatures will remain steady and close to average for this time of year.
