Good Evening, Folks! We’re tracking a cold front heading our way as we speak. It’s expected to move through our region from west to east after dinnertime tonight, bringing the chance for rumbles of thunder and a strong wind gust or two. Most of the rain should taper off by midnight, leaving us with drier conditions overnight.
Monday morning will kick off with fog in some areas, especially in higher elevations. However, the real story is the much colder weather moving into southern West Virginia. Temperatures today reached the 70s and 80s, but tomorrow, highs will only climb into the 50s—and 40s are expected later this week.
Windy conditions will add to the chill tomorrow, with gusts of 30-35 mph, so be sure to have your cold-weather gear ready. Rain will mostly wrap up tonight, though we could still see a few drizzles in higher elevations into Monday morning. All in all, it’s going to feel like a big shift from today’s warmth. Overnight from Monday into Tuesday, we could be seeing our first chance at snow for locations above 3000′. Elsewhere, a few rain showers will be possible.
Stay warm, stay prepared, and we’ll keep you updated on the latest forecast here on WOAY.
