Overview: Showers and storms will end this evening, dense fog will develop and Saturday will start muggy. As the day unfolds, humidity levels will drop and the weekend will be beautiful. Showers and storms return early next week, quite scattered in nature, but by late Wednesday to Friday, a front combined with tropical moisture from former Beryl (at that point) will bring a better risk for more widespread rain.
Chief Meteorologist Chad Merrill’s latest forecast:

WOLF CREEK TRAIL RACES (HOSTED BY ACTIVE SOUTHERN WEST VIRGINIA):
The trails will be muddy in spots from recent rain. The race starts mostly cloudy and muggy with a patch or two of fog. Sunshine returns and humidity lowers a bit at the end of the 15K. Temperatures warm from 73 degrees to 77 degrees during the race.
NEXT WEEK: A soggy pattern returns Monday and Tuesday afternoon with another trough approaching. Rain from Beryl could sneak into the region by Thursday afternoon.
