Saint Francis de Sales Beckley has dedicated the blessing of their new St. Francis de Sales statue, patron saint of the parish and school.
According to Father Leonard Smith, St. Francis was a lawyer, brilliant theologian, skilled and loving pastor.
The church honors the saints for living their exemplary Christian lives and followers imitate their faithfulness to him.
Smith calls the statue a wonderful addition.
“Ever since I got here a couple of years ago and I saw this sign… it just looked like it needed something on top of it and I just thought it was the perfect spot for a statue of our patron saint,” he says. “So… very happy to have that.”
