WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): Severe storms made their way through the area last night and died down into the morning. A few scattered showers and storms made their way through the area during the 6 o’clock hour, but there will be more to come later tonight. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the details:
Mostly cloudy skies will last through the day along with some scattered storms and showers spawning across the area. The storms currently in the southern plains and Midwest will come through the area later tonight into Thursday, giving us more wet weather and a chance for severe weather. A marginal severe weather risk has been placed in our western counties, with wind damage being the main concern. These storms will be strongest in late afternoon to early nighttime hours. Make sure you have multiple ways to receive alerts including the StormWatch App. Here’s the outlook for tomorrow’s severe risk:
After the severe weather on Thursday, Friday’s storms will be weaker and isolated amongst showers that will come through the area. The rain will last all the way through Saturday as low pressure passes the area before rain is finally pushed out late Saturday by high pressure from the north. Sunday and the start of next week are shaping up to be wonderful as high pressure stays around the area keeping us clear of the rain. For now, this is the consensus, but there is a chance the high pressure does not dip down. This would lead to some lingering chances of rain Sunday and Monday. If data starts to skew towards that scenario, we will update the forecast to reflect those changes. Here’s your 7-Day Forecast:
