Wyoming County, WV (WOAY) – The Special Olympics in Wyoming County is planning its second event on June 3rd at 6 p.m., at Wyoming East High School. Gates will open at 5 p.m.
Earlier this year, they held their first event in many years with a basketball game, even competing in the West Virginia Special Olympics state tournament.
This time, it’s the Wyoming County track and field championship. Competitors will be challenged in cornhole, a softball and tennis ball throw, and several distance walking events.
Holly Hale, Wyoming County Special Olympics director, says it’s an honor to put this event together, not only for the competitors but for the parents as well.
