GREENBRIER COUNTY, WV (WOAY) – The safe transportation of students has been a major focus for Greenbrier County Schools heading into the 2020-2021 school year.
The Operations and Transportation departments have spent countless hours figuring out the most effective way to publicly transport students of all ages. There is a plan in place to bring students to and from schools while socially distancing them in the most effective manner possible.
“Obviously we won’t have as many students on because of our plan with high school and middle school,” said Director of Operations George Brooks II. “That will allow us to space our children out. Children in the same household can sit 2-3 to a seat. Children from the same group or neighborhood area that get on at a bus stop can sit together because they’ve been together.”
Between the wearing of face masks and a decreased number of students on buses, the Operations Department is confident that students will be safely transported in the fall.
