Severe Weather Update

UPDATE TO THIS VIDEO: The Severe Thunderstorm Watch now includes Nicholas, Fayette, Raleigh, Wyoming, & McDowell counties through 1 PM today.

Good Wednesday morning. We’re tracking strong to severe thunderstorms today. The main threat for severe storms will be mid-day today between 11:30 am and 4 pm. The main severe risk at this time is damaging winds with gusts up to 60 mph, however the threat for large hail, flash flooding and even the risk for isolated tornadoes cannot be ruled out. We’ll be closely watching this storm and giving updates as they come. Always have a plan when it comes to the potential for severe weather and keep an eye to the sky. Much cooler air will enter the region as the severe weather exits our region late tonight. Lows will be in the 30’s and there is the possibility of snow flurries in the forecast
