WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): The second day of Adventure Days in Fayette County will bring breezy, but dry and seasonable weather.
Chief Meteorologist Chad Merrill was on hand to provide weather briefings to the Fayette Health Department since Adventure Days is a large outdoor venue and weather safety is a priority. Kids had the opportunity to kayak in the pond, fish for salmon, play disc golf and so much more. This is part of a three-day program.
TODAY’S WEATHER OUTLOOK: In his latest weather briefing for today’s forecast, Chad indicates the thin veil of clouds at daybreak will thin out by Noon. The Southeast wind will gust to 20-25 mph, backing off to 10-15 mph around 1 p.m. The UV index will reach 7 (high category) between 1-4 p.m. and the temperature at Fayette Park will rise from 42 degrees at daybreak to 60 degrees at 2 p.m., peaking at 67 degrees around 4:30 p.m.
SATURDAY: Rain is expected between 3-9 a.m., then the sun will gradually emerge. The peak wind gusts will be 15 mph and the temperature will start out around 50 degrees, staying steady through 11 a.m. and then makes big leaps into the mid 60s by 4 p.m., with upside risk to reaching 70 degrees. During this time, the clouds will break for plenty of sunshine!
