Senator Shelley Moore Capito announces nearly $2 million in federal funding for WV CASA

Charleston, WV (WOAY) West Virginia’s Court Appointed Special Advocates program is receiving nearly $2 million in federal funding to support children impacted by substance abuse.

U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito announced a $1.98 million grant for the West Virginia CASA Association through the U.S. Department of Justice.

The funding will be used to enhance and expand mentoring services for children and youth affected by opioid and other substance use disorders.

Senator Capito says the grant will provide critical resources to help young people facing the impacts of the drug epidemic while supporting the important work of CASA volunteers across the state.
