Section of Maple Avenue in Fayetteville to close starting Monday

FAYETTEVILLE, WV (WOAY) – The Division of Highways will begin work on Maple Avenue in Fayetteville next week and that will leave a section of the road closed for a little over a month.

They are putting in a new culvert to help with drainage which means the section in front of the Gaines Property just past Pies and Pints will be closed until August 7.

“It is going to be an improvement and hopefully we’ll see that when we have a rain event and it will help ease some of the minor flooding issues that we’re having, but yeah, it is going to be inconvenient, especially if you live in that area,” Town Superintendent Matt Diederich said.

There will be a detour that will utilize Lively Street, Wiseman Avenue and High Street. You can see that map here or on the town’s Facebook page.
