BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – When filling out the absentee ballot if you notice certain information is not included, but this doesn’t necessarily mean there is an error. In some cases, it just means you do not live in the inner city limits of a particular area.
There have been reports that some people have received incorrect ballots. However, this can happen if you’ve recently moved and didn’t update your registration or if you live outside inner-city limits.
“One quick way to know whether you have the correct city ballot. First, there are really three sections there. The first is your Ward Council Member. Depending on the ward is how many people will be running for that ward. The second is City Council at Large there are four candidates running for that. Then you should also have mayor section which there 6 people running for Mayor,” said mayor candidate Danielle Stewart.
