West Virginia (WOAY)—West Virginia renters who experienced losses due to the winter floods in February may be eligible for disaster recovery assistance from FEMA and the US Small Business Administration.
Renters may be eligible for individual assistance grants from FEMA to help with disaster-related expenses, including renting a new place to live due to damaged or lost rental and disaster-related medical and dental expenses.
Aid is also available for the replacement or repair of necessary personal property, such as appliances and furniture, textbooks, and computers used by students.
Additionally, business owners may receive assistance for lost work equipment or tools and for repairing or replacing vehicles damaged by the disaster.
You are likely eligible for aid if you live in Logan, McDowell, Mercer, Mingo, or Wyoming County and suffered damage from the February 15th floods.
Individuals can apply for aid at DisasterAssistance.gov, on the FEMA app, or by calling the helpline at 800-621-3362.
