Beckley, WV (WOAY) Senator Shelley Moore Capito’s office is hosting Academy Day 2026 for students and families interested in attending a U.S. service academy.
The Southern West Virginia event is set for Sunday, September 27, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Woodrow Wilson High School Auditorium in Beckley.
Representatives from the Air Force, Coast Guard, Merchant Marine, Military and Naval Academies will be on hand, along with information about ROTC scholarships.
Students can also learn about admissions, academics, physical requirements, and the Congressional nomination process.
Mock interviews will be available.
No registration is required, and students are encouraged to begin preparing early.
Organizers say strong academics, extracurricular involvement, leadership, and preparation can all play an important role in the process.
