Raleigh Playhouse showcasing local artists on social media

BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – The Raleigh Playhouse and Theatre in Beckley was just getting going again when the COVID-19 outbreak began.

Despite the theatre now being closed, they are still providing art to the community through social media.

Manager of Operations Shane Pierce is using Facebook to showcase local talent with everything from videos of artists to musicians while also hosting their own skits, watch parties and showing people where they can catch local performances on Facebook Live.

“We’ve just been trying to use all of those things to showcase the fact that even in a time like this, and maybe even particularly in a time like this, the arts never lose their value and they are part of what is seeing everybody through this time of isolation and quarantine,” Pierce said.

If you want to get involved and want to showcase your art you are encouraged to reach out to the Raleigh Playhouse on their Facebook page.
