Raleigh General Hospital earns Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for Spine Surgery

Beckley, WV (WOAY) Raleigh General Hospital has once again earned the Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for Spine Surgery.

The certification recognizes the hospital’s continued compliance with performance standards focused on safe, high-quality patient care.

The Joint Commission evaluates spine programs on areas including clinical outcomes, program management, patient education, care delivery and preparation for recovery and discharge.

Raleigh General underwent an unannounced onsite review in April, when Joint Commission reviewers observed operations and interviewed staff as part of the certification process.

Hospital leaders say the recognition reflects years of investment in a spine program focused on quality, safety and patient outcomes.

CEO David Brash says the certification reflects the dedication of the hospital’s entire care team, from the operating room through rehabilitation and recovery.

The hospital says the certification allows patients throughout southern West Virginia to receive advanced spine surgery and nationally recognized care closer to home.
