Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office and partnering organizations hosting You Are Not Alone event in Beckley on March 20; Event to expand to Oak Hill in April

Beckley, WV (WOAY) Sheriff Frank Priddy and Chief Deputy Frankie Shelton are reminding the community about an upcoming outreach event to help those in need.

The “You Are Not Alone” Outreach is set for Friday, March 20, from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m.

Organizers say the effort continues to grow, with three parking lots available for the event, including Sheetz on Robert C. Byrd Drive, along with nearby Go-Mart and Walgreens locations.

Sergeant B.J. Adkins says the outreach is now ten months in and focused on one mission: meeting people where they are, with no questions and no judgment, just help.

Community members, businesses, and organizations are all encouraged to take part or stop by for resources related to substance abuse, mental health, homelessness, and other challenges.

For more information, contact Sergeant Adkins at the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office at 304-255-9300 or by email at bjadkins@raleighcountysheriff.com.

Meanwhile, the outreach is expanding.

Sheriff Priddy and Chief Deputy Shelton also announced the event will be coming to Oak Hill in April.

The next outreach is scheduled for April 17 from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. at the Oak Hill Amphitheater, in partnership with Mayor Charles Briscoe and the Oak Hill Police Department.

Organizers say additional resources and volunteers are already stepping up to join the effort, continuing their mission to support those in need and strengthen communities across southern West Virginia.
