Raleigh County Sheriffs hosting community outreach event on June 18 to help our neighbors in need

Beckley, WV (WOAY)- You are not alone, and one local officer is making sure the community knows it.

Sgt. B.J. Adkins is teaming up with peer recovery specialists and local resources for a special outreach event on Wednesday, June 18, from 9:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.

He’ll be traveling across Raleigh County, starting near Sheetz and the Rails to Trails in Beckley, connecting with individuals facing addiction or mental health challenges.

The goal is to provide immediate assistance, genuine hope, and a clear path forward.

Sgt. Adkins won’t be alone.

He’ll be joined by a team of peers who’ve walked that same road and are now committed to helping others.

This is the first of what he hopes will become a monthly outreach, reaching every corner of Raleigh County.

Sheriff Frank Priddy and Chief Deputy Frankie Shelton say this kind of work proves real change starts with compassion, unity, and action.
