Beckley, WV (WOAY) Middle school students in Raleigh County will have the opportunity to explore the outdoors this summer through a new adventure program at Lake Stephens.
The Youth Outdoor Adventure Program is being offered through a partnership between Raleigh County Parks and Recreation, Active Southern West Virginia, Stewards Individual Placements, and WV NICA Raleigh County Youth Composite.
Students entering grades 6 through 8 can learn skills including hiking, mountain biking, paddleboarding, and leave-no-trace outdoor ethics.
The free sessions will be held on June 16, July 14, and August 11 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Lake Stephens.
