Raleigh County Deputies make second arrest in utility wire theft case

Raleigh County, WV (WOAY) – Deputies make second arrest in a case involving utility wire theft.

According to a media release from the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office, on Thursday August 7, 2025, detectives conducted an investigation into a recent spike in phone wire thefts in the Raleigh County area.

As a result of their investigation, Detectives identified and charged 54-year-old Charles Robert Stanley with 10 counts of felony transferring stolen property and 4 counts of misdemeanor transferring stolen property. Charles Stanley is also currently on Federal Probation.

As a part of the same investigation Detectives discovered two receipts that identified a Douglas McMillion whose name, identification card, and signature were present. Investigators questioned Mcmillion about his visits to Wood’s Recycling and Mr. McMillion confirmed his presence there. Additionally, the ID he provided matched the identification on the Wood’s Recycling receipts.

49-year-old Douglas Earl McMillion has been charged with 2 Felony Counts of transferring stolen property. According to investigators the total amount of copper is 991 pounds, and the total money he obtained is $2,875.
