Raleigh County Commission announces upcoming road improvements for Shady Spring

Shady Spring, WV (WOAY)- The Raleigh County Commission says it’s both pleased and grateful after hearing from Department of Highways officials that long-awaited relief is finally on the way for Shady Spring drivers.

According to the Department of Highways and the Department of Transportation, crews expect to lay new asphalt pavement by the end of June along the Z-way from Hinton Road through the Beaver Area.

That stretch of road has been a source of frustration for many, with rough patchwork making the construction zone difficult to navigate.

Officials say the fresh paving should significantly improve driving conditions between Beaver and Shady Spring.
