WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): A front will trigger a round of rain and storms overnight and then a cooler pattern will ensue late this week into the weekend.
SEVERE WEATHER RISK: McDowell, Mercer and Tazewell counties stand a chance at a gusty storm that could produce a small handful of power outages overnight. Otherwise, there is no severe risk in our region.
FLOODING RISK: The downpours overnight will trigger ponding of water on roads and poor drainage spots, but creeks and streams are not expected to overflow their banks.
PATTERN CHANGE: A cold frontal passage will bring much cooler temperatures Friday through the weekend. Frost is not expected.
