PSC encourages garbage haulers to assist customers with trash pickup amid inclement weather and icy roads

West Virginia (WOAY)- Amid harsh weather conditions and icy roads, the Public Service Commission of West Virginia encourages garbage collectors to offer alternative assistance to customers.

The commission asks haulers to park a truck with a driver at hard-to-reach areas near missed garbage pickup routes.

The PSC says trucks should be available for enough time to allow customers in the area to dispose of trash.

Haulers are advised to notify customers when they are in the area by calls, texts, email, or social media.

The commission intends for the availability of these trucks to begin by the end of the week.

The announcement comes as the PSC reports several customer complaints about the lack of garbage services for more than one week amid inclement weather and difficult road conditions.
