FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (WOAY) – One person is dead after a single-car crash on Route 20 in Fayette County, between Bellwood and Spring Dale.
According to state police, the vehicle was traveling southbound at a high rate of speed on Route 20 Monday night, before losing control and going off the left side of the road and crashing into a tree. The driver was able to be removed from the vehicle before it reportedly caught fire, but the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
State police do not suspect alcohol was involved, or that the driver was under any influence.
