Oakvale resident fears his home is in danger because of a falling apart wall

OAVALE, WV (WOAY) – An Oakvale resident fears that his home and nearby houses are in danger because of a wall that is built to hold up a railroad track is falling apart.

A wall that was built to prevent debris and to separate the train tracks from resident’s front yards continue to tear down. Ronald Rumley, an Oakvale resident and town council member says he has been searching for answers from the railroad company for 5 years.

“They put in a temporary fix five years ago. They said that they would be back and build a wall and it keeps falling and falling, we’re afraid a train is going to come through our house,” said Rumley.

The Oakvale Town Council is hoping to achieve a safer and more permanent solution through a petition.
