Oak Leaf Festival canceled due to COVID-19

OAK HILL, WV (WOAY) – The City of Oak Hill and the Oak Leaf Festival Committee have canceled the Oak Leaf Festival for the first time in its 21-year history.

By taking this unprecedented action, we hope to prevent the spread of the disease known as COVID-19. We are encouraging everyone to continue practicing social distancing to fight against the Coronavirus outbreak.

The City would like to acknowledge and thank the Oak Leaf Festival Committee for theirĀ support and efforts. They have been cautiously planning the 2020 festival with hope the conditions would allow the City to offer some or all of the events to the community. However, out of an abundance of caution, they have decided the health and safety of our community and employees are more important.

Our sincere apologies go to the citizens and many contributors who have been affected by this decision. We hope you will bear with us during these difficult times. We will continue to work tirelessly to make next year’s festival an unforgettable celebration of being together. We are looking forward to seeing everyone at our next Oak Leaf Festival in 2021.
