Oak Hill, WV (WOAY) – The Oak Hill Police Department has received a valuable donation.
According to a post on the Oak Hill Police Department Facebook page, non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. donated a bullet and stab protective vest to protect Oak Hill Police Department K9 Apollo.
The 501(c)(3) charity Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. was established in 2009. The groups mission is to provide bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the United States. The body armor for four-legged K9 officers is U.S. made, custom fitted, and National Institute of Justice (NIJ) certified. Since its inception, the 501(c)(3) charity Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. has provided over 5,970 vests valued at $6.9 million to K9s in all 50 states made possible by both private and corporate donations.
K9 Apollo’s vest is embroidered with the sentiment “This gift of protection provided by The Lammel Family.”
