OAK HILL, WV (WOAY) – During this week’s Oak Hill City Council meeting, council members decided to cancel this year’s Trunk-or-Treat event.
The event would have taken place on Main Street and allow businesses from across the city to set up booths to hand out goodies to trick-or-treaters.
“It’s a very popular event, and it’s very crowded. There are many people nearby, so it was decided for safety reasons that it would be canceled this year,” City Manager Bill Hannabass said.
Oak Hill residents still have the option to Trick or Treat on Halloween or attend a pumpkin festival that will take place at the Lewis House. For more information on the Pumpkin Festival, you can visit Oak Hill City’s Facebook page.
