Bluefield, WV (WOAY)—On September 10, the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health will offer free black lung screenings in Mercer County.
The screenings will be provided by a mobile testing unit at the Mercer Mall in Bluefield from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Screenings include work history, respiratory health questionnaires, chest X-rays, blood pressure checks, and breathing tests.
Attendants should receive their test results within 8 to 10 weeks of their appointment, and their screening will remain confidential.
While patients are advised to schedule an appointment in advance, walk-ins are welcome.
Current and former miners are encouraged to participate.
