United States Department of Justice has reached a settlement with a Beckley medical facility

Raleigh County, WV (WOAY) – The United States Department of Justice has reached a $120,000 settlement with a Beckley medical facility over alleged unqualified procedures paid for with Medicaid and the Veterans Administration.

West Virginia Sleep Centers LLC will pay $120,000 to resolve the allegations.

According to the United States Attorney, Moore Capito’s office, the company allegedly submitted claims for payment for sleep studies and reports that were prepared and signed by non-physician staff.

It’s part of a nationwide crackdown on health care fraud and opioid abuse schemes.

Capito also filed charges against a Huntington-based sober living facility, Lifehouse Incorporated, for allegedly billing overtime for work that wasn’t actually performed.
