Nicholas County, WV (WOAY) – A Nicholas County man is in jail for a fatal shooting that stemmed from a verbal altercation.
39-year-old James Anthony Dodrill of Mt. Lookout, WV has been charged with second degree murder in the death of Porschia Selman.
According to the criminal complaint, on March 29, 2025, West Virginia State Troopers responded to a home on Buddy Lane in Mt. Lookout where Dodrill told troopers he had accused Selman of cheating on him where the altercation began.
Troopers say Dodrill admitted to shooting Selman in the head with a handgun and the woman’s body was found on the bathroom floor.
Troopers indicated Dodrill told investigators that he and Selman had used methamphetamine prior to the argument.
James Anthony Dodrill is in the Central Regional Jail with no bond. His preliminary hearing date is set for April 3, 2025, in Nicholas County.
