Beckley,WV (WOAY)- The New River Gorge Regional Development Authority is inviting the public to a special workforce development session aimed at aligning job skills with employer needs across southern West Virginia.
The meeting takes place on Tuesday, September 16, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Beckley-Raleigh County Convention Center.
The event is part of a larger project led by WVU and Carnegie Mellon University, with support from regional partners, to create a data-driven tool that identifies existing workforce skills, connects them to in-demand jobs, and highlights training gaps.
NRGRDA Executive Director Jina Belcher says input from educators, employers, and community leaders is vital.
The session will also feature a presentation by WVU’s Dr. Heather Stephens on key findings and their local applications.
To attend, RSVP at eventbrite.com.
