FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (WOAY) – Since a new director and assistant director took the helm of the animal shelter, Commission President John Brenemen says things are going great.
According to Brenemen, in 42 days, they’ve been able to get 94 animals to other shelters, adopted or fostered.
He says the staff helped install a new floor and apply a fresh coat of paint.
“They’ve done a tremendous job getting that facility looking better. And they’re really working to save the animals,” the Fayette County Commission President said, of the new county oversight. “That’s one thing I really enjoy seeing, our people smiling when you go down and work with them, talk to them.”
Brenemen calls it a new attitude.
“We want to keep it going the right way, take care of the animals and make sure these animals have a place to be,” he said.
We are fortunate, Brenemen says that Fayette County has three rescue groups; other counties only have one.
“The Fayette County Animal Shelter, Fayette County Humane Society, and New River Animal Shelter, so we should be able to make a big impact on the animals in the county,” said the Commission president.
