GHENT, WV (WOAY) – The Shade Tree and Smooth Impressions Car Clubs held their third weekly car cruise.
Typically the cruises have been in Beckley, but this week the clubs went along the outskirts of the Beckley area, aiming to let more of the community see the show.
President of Shade Tree Car Club Mike Vernatt says he thinks that the weekly cruises have been great events for the community during this time of social distancing.
“You see people being happy and smiling, it’s a big get together in a distance you would say. You can still wave at people and y’know blow the horn and they just get tickled to death. And people can’t get out, they can sit back and wave and I love it. God gave us this great weather to have these three car cruises,” Vernatt said.
The cruise this week started at the Ghent Fire Department and went through Cool Ridge, Shady Spring and Daniels.
