Need for nurses rises steadily throughout Southern West Virginia

PRINCETON, WV (WOAY) – As the pandemic continues, the need for healthcare professionals is slowly rising in some areas.

Greenbrier Valley Medical Center for instance has more than a dozen openings for nurses at the moment and is even holding job fairs around the area to attract candidates.

One job fair took place in Princeton this week, a city with many nursing students at both the local technical education center and colleges.

Scott Kelley, the human resources director with the medical center says that nursing is an incredibly in-demand position right now.

“Obviously it is a difficult time with everything going on. Nursing is a very rewarding field. We have a lot of opportunities, and that’s across the nation. Facilities across the nation have a lot of opportunities and nursing is an in-demand position right now,” Kelley said.

Any nurses interested in working at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center can apply online.
